This young, playful pup was saved from a heartbreaking fate thanks to the efforts of his rescuers, who drove through the night from Nebraska to SC just to bring him to safety. Hank's story is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Despite being deemed a “dangerous dog”, Hank quickly won over the hearts of our staff with his playful demeanor and love of water play. While we may not know everything about his past, we are certain that he deserves a chance at a happy and fulfilling life. Since arriving at our sanctuary, Hank has been thriving. He has ingratiated himself with all of our staff, the other dogs and has shown himself to be a quick learner when it comes to basic obedience. He enjoys his days running and playing in our spacious yards, and we can't wait to see what adventures he will be up for in the coming weeks and months. This sweet boy isn’t used to all this freedom, after sitting on death row for several months, and he is loving it! We are grateful to the folks who saved Hank’s life. A caring father and his beautiful and compassionate daughter, Chris and Sophi. Chris reached out to us with an urgent request to assist with a dog that his daughter had become incredibly attached to as his caregiver at the shelter that was housing Hank, due to an ongoing court case. Sofi could tell that Hank had the potential to be a fantastic dog, but at 10 months old, he was ordered by the court to be destroyed. Hank spent the majority of his life at the end of a chain. Neglected and abused, what kind of life would be in his future? After his owners landed in prison, Hank had an unfortunate run in with a friend of theirs, resulting in a bite. This bite would seal Hank's fate. But thanks to Chris and Sophi, Hank’s life took an unexpected turn. Once St Francis Farm was able to confirm that we could accept Hank as a resident,Chris contacted the local judge and by the grace of God Hank was granted a stay of execution. Literally, a court ordered Stay of Execution. We are honored to have Hank as part of our sanctuary and look forward to seeing him thrive and grow in the days, weeks and years to come. Now we would like to take this opportunity to appeal to all animal lovers out there. As happy as we are to have Hank with us, we need monthly sponsors to help us take care of him and the rest of the animals at our sanctuary. Your sponsorship will help provide Hank with the care and support he needs to continue to thrive. We appreciate any amount you can contribute, and we thank you in advance for your generosity. Together, we can give Hank the chance he deserves to live a happy and fulfilling life.
