Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal.

Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY. 

Foster Update:  Karen is house trained 100%, crate trained, good with other dogs her size and larger as she is currently living with two dogs and walks well with them all together on leash.  However, I am not sure about smaller dogs, as she seemed to get too fixated on the small dogs (from what I saw there was no real aggression though) when out walking so I would recommend caution here. 

She is fine with our cats, however they are used to seeing dogs come in and out.  Great with kids, men, and women, but is a strong dog.  Can walk very well on leash with proper training and guidance, already learning how to heel.  She is energetic and playful, but not wild.  She enjoys riding in the car and is very good, just sits in the back seat and relaxes.  She does not know basic commands very well, but is extremely food/praise motivated so will be easy to train.

Has zero food or toy aggression towards humans and does not seem to exhibit any negative signs with other dogs either.  She is like a puppy and does not know yet what she can chew and what she cannot around the house, but responds to "no" and easily gives up anything she has in her mouth.  Just hangs out around you all day, lies there until you are ready to play.  No shyness or fears in any form seen.  She seeks attention and praise from anyone willing to give it.  She will need someone who is willing to train and provide her with structure and will be a perfect dog.

Hi my name is Karen , I am a sweet and beautiful girl with a fun-loving demeanor.   I dream of snuggling on the couch with my new best human friend!  I offer unconditional love, loyalty and an ear to listen to all of your secrets ... good and bad.  I want nothing more than to have a human of my very own.     Do you know of anyone who'd fit that bill?  With some love and guidance I am sure to prove to be the best companion imaginable.

At the time of adoption a donation of $250 (dogs over 6 months) and $350 (dogs 6 months and under) is requested before the animal is placed in a new home.
